Wonderful Hospitality with Nile view

Pros: Kafana was a wonderful host. He made sure that we had everything we needed. He arranged our transport from the airport although we arrived late. The view of the Nile from the room and the breakfast area is so calm and beautiful. The breakfast was handmade and very tasty. The room was very clean.

Cons: We didn’t have the opportunity to stay longer and enjoy the scenery.

Exceptional!

Pros: The people were some of the best we met in Egypt! Its gorgeous at sunset, feels authentic, and grounded in tradition and warmth. The food is cooked with love and tastes heavenly!

Paradise

Pros: Fabulous location facing the west bank, including the Aga Khan mausuleum and Botanical Gardens on Kitchener Island. Beautiful views, peaceful apart from occasional boats blaring music. Good food. Wonderful Nubian breakfast with perfect eggs. Excellent staff. Kafana is helpful in organising trips to Abu Simbel, Philae Temple, etc. He also arranged a brilliant massage on Kings peaceful and meditative island next to the Gardens. Behind the guesthouse are the local allotments surrounded by palm and mango trees. It's paradise. Mustafa showed us around his village. Our room was small but adequate, plenty of hot water and a great view from the balcony. Very clean. Friendly. Indeed, everyone on the island was very welcoming.

Cons: No automatic daily servicing of rooms, but given a thorough clean with change of bedlinen and towels on request halfway through our 8 night stay.

Amazing ! Authentic and relaxing experience authentique et calme

Pros: We had an amazing time at Kafana guest house. The owner Kafana and all the staff are super nice and helpful. The hotel's location is perfect. It is on the call side of Elephantine island, ans only 4 minutes walking to the ferry. The view is incredible. You never tire of the view in the morning, watching the calm Nile waters and the feluccas glide by. We stayed here for five days to enjoy some relaxation. The food served is delicious! The breakfast is amazing. Highly recommend !

Fabulous

Pros: Beautiful and clean spot on the water. The staff were so lovely and helpful, Especially Kafana who went out of his way to help and organise things for us. The food there was also delicious. I would highly recommend staying at Kafana Guest House.

Cons: Sadly, following my balanced review I have since received a black-mailing message from the guest house, asking me to edit my review or risk being fined by Booking.com :-( Party boats rather noisy right outside the guest house Room smaller than expected for a Deluxe (fine as a Standard)

We were only there for one night wished we could have stayed longer.

Pros: Great location. We arrived large at night but Kafana organised a transfer and a boat ride even though it was late. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

Highly recommend this place. Such a friendly island.

Nubian hospitality at its best!

Pros: The ever changing golden view from the Kafana Guesthouse is sublime. This welcoming family run guesthouse makes their guests feel like family. Nothing is too much of a trouble. Sitting on the front watching the Feluccas sail past, whilst enjoying a memorable Egyptian breakfast or dinner was so relaxing.

Pros: Amazing host, he came to pick us up with his boat to go to the guest house and we even got a welcome drink. Wonderful terrace by the water.
