Sheraton Miramar Resort El Gouna

A peaceful retreat surrounded by stunning gardens and the sea on a side

Pros: An amazing hotel with paradise-like gardens and lagoons, and a perfect, always smiling staff. One of the few hotels in El Gouna with a truly perfect private beach. Excellent food, especially the Italian restaurant La Piscina — outstanding cuisine and wonderful service. A perfect place for a peaceful getaway and a complete mental reset.

Cons: Although we booked a Deluxe Room Sea View Beachfront, we were initially accommodated in a remote part of the hotel with a lagoon view. However, the next day a staff member kindly agreed to change our room to the perfect Deluxe Room Sea View Beachfront that we had paid for. Even the pillows in the new room were noticeably softer. On the second day of our stay, several beach umbrellas were cut down, and they remained lying on the beach for the rest of our vacation. The spa staff repeatedly referred to us as “russian tourists,” despite us reminding them several times that we are not russian. The minibar in the room was refilled only twice during our 10-day stay. Only local alcoholic drinks are available at the bar, and the cocktails are not particularly good

Pros: Beautiful resort design, rooms are a few meters from a very peaceful beach with a nicely secluded area, good quality and variety of food

Cons: Biggest let down is the colour of the sea which is more tending towards lagoon colour than turquoise, but that’s generally the colour of the coast in ElGouna unless you go out with a boat from what we saw, and nonetheless it’s still beautiful. Reception staff not very informative (we had to discover everything ourselves), hotel events not up to standard (cater to older folks), walking distance to main building from rooms is quite significant (furthest rooms 10mins max), the pool is far below expectations.

Pros: Beautiful location in “oasis gardens”, nice staff (especially at the beach bar) and great oriental restaurant (both cuisine and staff top class)

Cons: Small gym (for such a big hotel) with very old machines

Pros: Hotel is basically an entire landscape park. Everytime it amazed me to walk through all the plants and besides the waterways to the building where my room was. Like a dream!

Pros: I like the lagoons and beaches and the trees all over the hotel, the place is charming and suitable for families and couples. In real life, it looks way better than photos, and we enjoyed our time 🌞

Cons: The events are a bit boring. The performers are good, but the effort in engaging people with the performers and entertaining them is poor.
