OBAI Nubian Guest House

Pros: The place is brand new, clean and a few meters from the ferry. When I had to get up very early for my drive to Abu Simbel, one of the employees was up at 4 am in order to give me a breakfast box to take with me on the tour. It was very thoughtful and kind. The communication was very good with Ahmet and I was pleased with my stay.

Lovely stay and highly recommend!

Pros: The guesthouse enjoys a superbly convenient location, just steps away (less than 100 meters) from the ferry to Elephantine Island. Staying on the island is not the least bit inconvenient — it's just a quick one-minute ferry ride to the city side. The rooms are clean and well-equipped, with reliable hot water and fast Wi-Fi. The Nubian family is incredibly kind and helpful. They went out of their way to assist us, providing things like laundry and an early breakfast box, etc.

Cons: The guesthouse had just opened in early December 2025 when we stayed there. We were among the first guests. Everything was brand new, and some areas were still under construction, but this did not affect our stay at all.

Quite and colourful

Pros: Super laid back and friendly staff always helpful and kind. The location is great, just a few minutes from the ferry stop to Aswan. I highly recommend Obai if travelling on a budget as the place is clean comfortable, and the staff are great and helpful. The rooftop is not finished as yet but possible to use to eat breakfast with a great view over the Nile.

Pros: My stay at OBAI Nubian Guest House was absolutely wonderful and exceeded my expectations. The place has an authentic Nubian atmosphere with warm décor that makes you feel right at home. The view of the Nile is beautiful and offers a sense of peace and relaxation. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and attentive to every detail to ensure the guests’ comfort. The room was clean and well-organized, and the service was excellent. Breakfast was delicious and varied. Honestly, it was a great experience, and I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Aswan and looking for a comfortable stay filled with authentic Nubian charm. I will definitely come back again!

Pros: Ich vergebe eigentlich keine 10/10 Bewertung, aber hier passte alles. Die Dachterrasse befindet sich noch im Bau, ist aber jetzt schon ein Highlight.

Pros: L'amabilitat de tot el personal. La ubicació un 10, i l'amabilitat per ajudar a portar l'equipatge fins el ferri. Els llits super confortables, l'esmorzar molt bo.

Pros: Das Hotelpersonal war sehr gut über WhatsApp im Vorfeld erreichbar. Die Kommunikation auf Englisch war hürdenfrei.

Cons: Nur der Erdgeschoss ist bereits eingerichtet. Die Etagen drüber werden noch gebaut. Es gibt keine 24-Stunden-Rezeption. Wir sind nur bei der Fähre fündig geworden als wir ankamen.

Pros: L'accueil, les sourires des hôtes et la propreté dans un bâtiment neuf. J'ai eu droit a une bouteille d'eau et un jus naturel pressé à mon arrivée. Un petit déjeuner egyptien servi au rooftop et si vous partez tôt, on vous le prépare pour emporter 👌. Une île au style Nubian loin de l'agitation de la ville et dans un cadre magnifique avec des restaurants sur le nil et une vue imprenable sur abu el hawa. Merci pour tout 🤩❤️.

OBAI is friendly, well managed by the family, who r always helpful, is situated right by the ferry.and is great value.

Pros: Location was great, my room large and comfortable, breakfast was fantastic and big thanks to Ziggy and his brothers making my stay memorable.

Cons: The mattress on my bed was very hard.
