Pros: The place offers the real vibe of the Nubian life style and the quietness of the location is very much appreciated. Easy to reach elsewhere in the city. The owner is a super knowledgeable person, with whom you can chat for a long time. He helped us a lot with many things including excursions to nearby places. I strongly recommend this place and hope to go back again in the future when the rooftop is finished :)

Pros: The apartment is on Elephantine Island in Aswan, and the location is a bit difficult to find for first-timers. But the owner of the apartment will meet you at the public ferry and take you to your room. The island is relatively quiet at night and there is not a lot of noise. My leg was scraped, and the owner applied herbal compresses on the wound, which worked.
Cons: The room is relatively small and the soundproofing is not good. You can hear the door opening and closing and people talking outside.

Good
Pros: Saif is the owner of the guest house, he gave us a lot of information of Aswan. I really like how he explained the structure of Nubian’s house. It’s difficult to find the place by yourself, although it’s just few minutes walk from the pier. It’s better to guide by the staff first. The public ferry costs only 10 LE, and goes from 6am to midnight, be careful for the scammers.
Cons: The room is too small for 3 beds, and we don’t have enough space for our belongings.

I loved getting to know a little bit about the Nubian people!!!
Pros: Elephantine Island is a place of simple and peaceful people. The Om-Abdallah guesthouse is close to where the boats arrive. The streets have no names or numbers, but people know the guesthouse. The guesthouse is small, with only six rooms. The owner Saif is a generous and kind person. I have no words to thank him for all the attention he gave me, before and during my stay at the guesthouse; thank you Saif. I ate local food and bought handicrafts from Nubian women, this helps the local economy.
Cons: Unfortunately, there is no public policy to serve the Nubian community and the socio-environmental conditions are quite precarious. There is no investment to improve people's living conditions, much less for local tourism.

One of the best places I have ever been :)
Pros: Everything! The place is very nice clean and cozy! And the owner is the kindest person you could ever meet. We shared a lot of time talking and he was explaining a lot about the area, and touristic points, he also helped me with indications in Arabic in a paper. He also invited me a very tasty fruit juice.
Cons: All was very good!

friendly staff and very good place to relax and see local life
Pros: We were the only family at the property (because of the season's end) so we had an endless conversation about the history, ancient Egypt, and the Nubian life with Seyfi. Hotel is very clean with A/C, good wifi, and a wide lobby. We felt like a guest in a village house, not a customer of them. Seyfi helped us to find a taxi to go to Luxor and called us every time to be sure we were ok. My kids liked him too much and these nice Nubian people. very happy to see you there, we believe we have a friend there.
Cons: This place is in a village and there is no car on that island. So if you have heavy luggage it can be difficult to carry.

A happy stay on the little island
Pros: The owner is a very pleasant and helpful person and the guesthouse is comfortable with good WiFi. Free tea/coffee and fruits were provided. The location on Elephantine island was lovely and quiet, compared to the hustle and bustle of the mainland. It is very close to the Aswan museum and the local ferry is easy to use, cheap and available 24/7 (between midnight and 6am there is an extra charge). Would recommend buying food from the main supermarket on the island as the prices are very reasonable compared to the mainland markets.
Cons: The water and electricity was cut at different times during our stay, which was a bit difficult but not the owners fault as issues and repairs were going on island wide.

Thank you saif - we loved staying at your abode and your place comes at the top of my kids list in Egypt
Pros: I cannot give enough praise to this property. Nestled in the midst of the island, it provides excellent toilet facilities and an amazing shared lounge space. Toilets are neat and clean and gives more of a five star feel. Saif is an excellent host and my kids simply felt like home. He makes fresh breakfast and food and we loved it be it; fresh juice, egg and cheese with fresh bread or falafels. Saif helps the guests without any greed of making the extra dime. He provided me with train times and actual cost, bus options and also private car. He made our stay comfortable and at ease. I highly recommend this place for the unique and hospitable experience
Cons: I can’t think of any negatives about our stay - honest
