Gaddis Hotel

Hotel was good but a little of the way

Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful. The owner, Mr Gaddis, personally met incoming guests and chatted. Lift to room. Room was generally quiet even though the hotel is near a busy corner. Room was clean (serviced daily) and well furnished, incl. fridge and kettle. Bed was OK with clean sheets. Hot shower was great. Nice clean fluffy towels and bathrobes. TV with Al Jazeera English. Good breakfast buffet. Restaurant was a little kitsch and expensive but the food was enjoyable. Good value for money overall. I'd have stayed longer if there had been vacancies. If you want to go to the West Bank, there's a public ferry near the Karnak International Hospital. It's 25 EGP for foreigners, opposed to 100+ EGP for a private ferry (although they are closer to the hotel).

Cons: Main issue is the location. There's not much nearby and it's a long walk on busy dusty roads to Luxor Temple (30+ mins) and elsewhere. There are plenty of taxis but then there is the hassle of haggling about price. 50 EGP to the Luxor Temple generally worked - quarter of starting price. There is wifi of variable quality in the lobby but not rooms. On two nights there was a large cultural youth group staying so there was some noise and breakfast was crowded but not sure how frequent that type of thing is. When leaving I was told I hadn't paid. Fortunately I still had my receipt - keep your's until you leave.

Pros: We loved our stay here. The rooms were super clean, service is quick and the staff are so friendly. They let us check in early at 9 AM on our first day. Very good traditional Egyptian breakfast and they gave us a fruit basket for every room.

Great value in an excellent location, with clean renovated rooms and very helpful staff.

Pros: We chose this place based on our budget, but the room we were given was renovated and always spotless. The staff were wonderful, especially Mr. Hany, who helped us organize our visits and activities in a really great way. We truly appreciated his help and hospitality.

Cons: The hotel has certainly seen better days, but for this price range, I have absolutely no complaints.

Pros: The location is great if you would like to walk to Luxor Temple. People here are very welcoming and helpful 🙂 The breakfast buffet is really good with great service from the staff. The reception staff are informative and helpful.

Cons: Not much to do for kids inside the hotel.

Pros: The staff very helpful. Very nice breakfast. Nice clean swimming pool. Very good food. The bar was very nice with local spirits and beer. The real lod Egiptcian atmosphere foamed in the bar..very good location for the highlights of Luxor temples.and the city. Only just 5 minutes.away. Although we checked out at 12.00 o'clock, we were given opportunity to stay in the hotel till our bus leaves at 20.00 without any extra charge.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: النظافه جيده الإفطار حيد و مستر إيهاب صاحب الفندق يدير الأمور بنفسه و يتابع بشكل جيد اشكره

Cons: يحتاج إلي بعض التجديدات بلاط الغرف يحتاج للتعديل حيث أنه يعكس رطوبه عاليه لذلك أطلب تغييره بنوع أفضل أو باركيه

Très bon petit déjeuner, bon rapport qualité prix, staff sympathique.

Pros: Le meilleur petit déjeuner d'Égypte, un très bon rapport qualité prix, une bonne situation géographique, un personnel très sympathique et à l'écoute.

Cons: Les équipements ne sont pas tout jeunes.

Pros: A simple hotel with very friendly staff. Since the price is quite low, it met my expectations. The room was basic but clean. Breakfast was good.

Cons: The pool and the surrounding area look much better in the photos than they do in reality - we did not use it.
