Great hotel on the Nile

Pros: Nice hotel right on the Nile. Rooms were large and clean. The staff were very kind and I liked that there were multiple restaurants on site. I also enjoyed the live singer that they had in the hotel lobby bar at night. The pool area was nice and you could order drinks and snacks (including fantastic ice cream!) out there as well.

Cons: The fancy shower in our bathroom was too complicated to work. It was an enclosed unit with a remote-style keypad and was a hot tub, steamer, shower, etc. I could never figure out how to just make it work like normal (shower head above). The pool was great but because of the constant flies I could never really relax. The flies are not specific to the Sonesta but you should know that they will be a part of your pool experience in Luxor.

Cons: The majority of rooms are BADLY in need of a refurb - very old and very little storage space - I kept all my clothes in my case - 3 star at best One floor has already been modernized and it’s excellent - Ask for one of those rooms There is a smoking area in the ground floor cafe 😳😶‍🌫️

Excellent staff

Pros: Everything was wonderful. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was quite good. The location is excellent. They even upgraded us to a better room overlooking the Nile

Cons: There was only one chair on the balcony, one robe, one pair of slippers

Pros: Location and outdoor terrace next to the Nile are fabulous

Fabulous stay in Luxor

Pros: We had a lovely room with a wonderful view of the Nile. The staff were very friendly and Hany their transport manager was very helpful. Sabry our driver for a couple of days, booked via Hany, was excellent.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go there again.

Pros: Breakfast was excellent especially the indivually made omellete! Italian restaurant was very good. The Hotel terrace overlooked th Nile and The Valley of the Kings . Also The Hotel was in an ideal position .

Cons: Next door there were workmen making concrete during the night as it was too hot in the day. It only happened 1 night fortunately. We did ask for a change of room and they were very accomodating but we didn't need to.

Good hotel in front of The Nile river.

Pros: Very well situated in front of the Nile river. Big and clean room and nice swimming pool.

Cons: The Breakfast was not bad, but not excel.lent.

A beautiful Nile-side stay with excellent service, great food and a calm, luxurious atmosphere that made my time in Luxo

Pros: Fantastic stay from start to finish. The location right on the Nile is perfect — central but peaceful, with beautiful views. The Italian restaurant was excellent (proper quality food, not just “hotel standard”), and the spa was spotless and a lovely place to unwind after long days exploring. The staff were the real standout — warm, professional and incredibly attentive. I felt completely looked after as a solo traveller. Would absolutely stay again.

Cons: The only small downside was that I couldn’t connect my iPhone to the TV to mirror my screen and watch Netflix. It’s not essential, but as a solo traveller it’s nice to have that option for relaxing evenings in the room. A small tech upgrade there would make the stay even better.

Reasonable for price paid

Pros: Good size room. Comfortable bed. Good air con. Reasonable restaurants. Most staff are very helpful with special shout out to pool service. Good Central location in Luxor and overlooks Nile. Overall good value for price but not particularly memorable and beginning to show its age.

Cons: Recommend Nile view room as front facing rooms on busy noisy road and side rooms overlooking water treatment plant. Shower over bath Area around the pool could be cleaner as could gym - no wipes or towels. Also looks good but a number of machines dont work.
