Perfectly located boutique hotel with brilliantly staff and excellent personal service.
Pros: Djorff Palace is located in a fabulous location on the West Bank. The building is new but designed to look like an Arabic Palace. Marina and her husband have developed a unique hotel brilliantly located on the West Bank.
Cons: Not sure anything negative . From our perspective it was exactly the luxury boutique hotel we were after. Not a shiny new style hotel but full of characters.

A peaceful characterful place to stay within easy reach of the sights on both banks.
Pros: Fab location and a beautiful building still under construction in part. Amazing craftsmanship. Loved the pool and the rooms. All very tastefully furnished. Hoopoes on the lawn and lots of other bird life. Free boat provided to cross the Nile to the hustle of the east bank. The owner organised a balloon trip for us which was a definite highlight of our stay.
Cons: I’m afraid the mattress was very hard in our room. Slightly felt like you had to pass a test with the English host which I think we did. She’s a character. Also the hotel is unlicensed but you can bring in your own.

Great calm place to stay but with easy access to all the temples and sights around Luxor. Highly recommended.
Pros: Great location away from the hustle and bustle of the east bank. Boat runs all day and evening so easy access to restaurants etc Easy to organise trips through a very efficient reception desk. Don’t miss the hot air balloon ride at sunrise. Lovely pool with views across the Nile All the staff were amazing and very hospitable. We travelled from the hotel to El Gouna , arranged by the hotel, with our driver Adman who was great. Very good , safe driving and great local knowledge in English.

West Bank tranquilty.
Pros: I liked so many things about this hotel. The West Bank location, peaceful, was so up our street. Its not a chain hotel, its unique and very individual and I would happily recommend it. Loved the free boat across and even the extra charge for being dropped to Luxor Temple (covers both ways) was worth it. The staff. On my travels onwards from Djorf, I have encountered hotel service that was not ' just on it', unlike the Djorf. Special shout out to Mohamed in breakfast area. He is efficient, interative and he needs cloning. I know a hotel on a rock in Aswan that could benefit from his assured service. Ahmed in the restaurant, was a lovely and interactive soul too. Also the two Ahmeds in reception, lovely interactive people. Marina, your staff are a credit to the hotel.
Cons: The bed in Opal, just too hard for me! My husband was OK with it, he has had back problems. So sorry that bed has made me deduct a few points.

Very dark rooms despite attractive design
Pros: On the positive side, the hotel is located in a pleasant compound, away from the hassle and bustle of the city centre.
Cons: The rooms at the Djorff Palace Hotel are somewhat attractive, but unfortunately very dark. It’s not possible to read a book in bed due to the poor lighting, and the windows do not provide enough natural light to compensate. The bed is also quite squeaky.
