Al Amir Palace Hotel

A cheap hotel close to the station and very suitable as a starting point for excursions.

Pros: Amir Palace Hotel is located in a working-class neighborhood near the station. I’m the side streets there are all kind of small shops and market stalls. The staff of the hotel do not speak English very well, but they are friendly and helpful. They arranged for me to travel to Abydos by taxi and with a translator to visit the famous Temple of king Seti I and the 5,000 year old enclosure of king Khasekhemwy.

Cons: The hotel ha probably seen better days: the entrance for example is of a star hotel, but my bathroom is in need of renovation.

Friendly and safe stay

Pros: This place saved us last minute when another hotel tried to charge us more for being foreign last minute on the day of arrival!! But beyond that, it was a great hotel. Friendly staff, safe and convenient location, clean rooms. Helped to book a taxi for our trip to the airport. A small breakfast was a nice touch and they even packed us one to take away on the last morning as we had to leave for the airport early.

Cons: WiFi could have been faster

Pros: Right behind the railway station local tasty street food available We picked this hotel as we had to board the train to luxor next day It's located close to the central market and streets, so a few restaurants at a walking distance.| Nice warm breakfast Hotel staff speak English and were very helpful, they arrange for airport pick up for 400 Egyptian pounds They also arranged a half day trip to the Red and White monasteries for 600 Egytian pounds

Pros: One of the only good hotels i can find on booking. The hotel location is very central it’s on the market and next to the train station. Really worth of the money

Cons: The reception can not speak english so you have to talk through google translate. The trains mannn when they arrive, whole egypt knows they are arrive with there loud hoorn also in the night

Convenient location, very helpful staff, nicely prepared room

Pros: The room had nice extra decorations around towels and beds. The staff made me feel welcome and helped me a lot, made me feel like queen. The hotel may not get many overseas tourists. The area is not fancy but very close to the railway station and has quirky little shops nearby

Pros: Wejście do hotelu nie zachęca ale same pokoje były w porządku oprócz kwestii zapachu papierosów. Wygodne łóżka, sporo miejsca w pokojach i łazience. Fajna lokalizacja - lokalne jedzenie na wyciągnięcie ręki.

Cons: Niestety jeden z pokoi bardzo śmierdział papierosami. Śniadanie było małe, mało zróżnicowane, niezbyt nadające się dla dzieci, musieliśmy upominać się o łyżeczki, herbatę itp. Bardzo ciężko zaparkować z okolicy.

Pros: A acomodação estava limpa, era confortável e o processo de check in foi fácil e rápido. A equipe da recepção muito prestativa e sempre a disposição em ajudar e oferecer segurança e conforto. Avisei no dia anterior que sairia antes do café da manhã, pois tinha um ticket de trem e para minha surpresa a equipe havia preparao um lanche para viagem. Fiquei muito feliz e agradecida. Indico a todos os viajantes que esperam se sentir em casa durante a estada em Sohag.

Cons: Não consegui esquentar a água do chuveiro para um banho quente, mas isso não foi problema para mim.
