Orchida St. George Hotel

Comfortable stay

Pros: The view of our room was very nice, the location is close to the centre of Aswan, and most importantly, the staff was very helpful and cheerful from the very first moment till the end of our stay.

Cons: Room service needs to be better.

Pros: Very nice staff, the room is basic but has everything you need. Location is great, other than the normal tours I really enjoyed walking around Aswan Old Souq that is next to Orchida and had delicious falafel there, some of the best I had in Egypt.

Cons: The Orchida has seen better days. It needs some maintenance, slow wifi (but at least there is wifi in the room which is rare in Egypt!) and shower not consistently hot. All typical problems in Egypt, nothing majorly inconvenient.

Orchida St George Hotel

Pros: Well located, in the heart of Aswan. The crew was awesome with us. The installations are old, but everything was functional. We had a great view of the zone, including Nile river. I would repeat the accommodation if I return Aswan anytime.

Cons: The pool was not available.

Pros: I really liked this place! I found my room cosy and it was great to have a river view, fridge and instant hot water for the shower. The staff were so friendly and communication was always authentic and smooth. I did not get a chance to jump in the pool, but I did relax on the lovely rooftop – which conveniently also has bathrooms and sun loungers – for a spectacular view towards the souk and the hills. Around the corner to the left when leaving the hotel there is a nice coffee place to relax and behind the hotel going towards the souk lots of friendly people and a great falafel stand. If I ever go back to Aswan, I would book here.

Nice hotel in a good location however they need to upgrade their air conditioning.

Pros: It is a basic hotel, the staff are very friendly and they do try to help you. The location is very good. The size of the room is very decent and it is not cramped. It is nice and quite inside. There is a swimming pool in the roof however it is small. If I were to visit aswan again I would live here. This hotel is ok not too bad. The wifi connection is ok.

Cons: I have said I would visit this hotel again, however they need to upgrade the air conditioning as the machines are too old. Mine made a lot of noise and I could not sleep properly at night. The TVs are too basic. The size of the pool is too small and the wifi signal needs improving. Also, some staff members had difficulty in understanding basic English, especially the ones on night shift. The ones during the day do seem to understand English. Also, not the hotel's fault, the moment you step out of the hotel and walk towards the main street, the people from the shops try to sell you things, it felt very irritating at times.

Pros: Location was very convenient for exploring the town and close to the river. The rooftop pool was small but nice to have access to and our kids enjoyed it

Cons: موقع الفندق داخل شارع و يجب حمل الحقائب و صعود درجات سلم كثيرة أرض الغرفة غير مغطاة بموكيت أو سجاد مما جعلة باردة طول الوقت و هذا في وقت الشتاء غير مريح
