La Terrace

We had great time at La Terrace and recommend it.

Pros: Very clean Mohamed is quite friendly and very helpful Elephantine Island is a great spot

Pros: We stayed at the top floor: amazing views on the Nile from a big terrace outside a spacious and very clean room that has all the facilities. La Terrace is on Elephantine Island, itself a highlight of Aswan and best place to stay. No cars! Very easy ferrying to and from the Island. The manager and the cleaning ladies superbly friendly, responsive and helpful. Highly recommanded!

Spacious rooms and good host

Pros: This place on Elephantine Island, it's a Nubian village(it really is a village), and can only be reached by taking a 2 minute boat ride, it's not a hinderance per se. There is a public ferry available for to and fro which costs 15 EGP per person one way. Mohammed runs this place and is very fluent in English and was very helpful in making arrangements for us at decent prices. We reached Aswan around midnight, and had Mohammed arranged the car for pickup earlier. Our flight got delayed but we didn't have to pay extra for the wait time and also on request he sent some food with driver. He also helped us with the trips to Abu Simbel and Luxor. We got a room at the top of the 4 story house with a large open area in front. Thanks to Mohammed, he brought help to take our luggage up and down. The property overlooks Nile river with cruise docked on the side. The room was spacious and also had options to wash clothes.

Cons: There is no in-house place to order food. His uncle runs a place for breakfast right next to this building. Otherwise you can walk to King Jamaica restaurant(we had ours here) for they have great food, coffee and have vegetarian options too. Although, at these prices a breakfast must come included with the room.

Awesome

Pros: It was a fantastic experience. Mohammed greeted us with great enthusiasm. At the very beginning of our stay, he carefully told us about the hotel’s location and led us there in person, making us feel right at home. The room was clean and tidy, and all amenities including hot water and a hair dryer were readily available. Amid the hustle and bustle of travel, a stay at Le Terrace on the island is an absolute must. The hotel’s terrace offers a panoramic view of the Nile, making it a perfect spot to unwind. Transportation to and from the island by boat is convenient, and there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, so you won’t have a single worry. The people here are all warm and kind. This can definitely be called the highlight of my trip to Egypt.

Pros: The property is on Elephantine Island very near to the ferry dock. The room was extremely spacious and clean and the view from the balcony was mesmerising. The breakfasts were very good. We also had an evening meal there which was delicious. Both Mohammed, the host and his wife Amira were mist helpful. The.wifi was excellent
