Palm Guest House

Pros: Everything was wonderful! Its such a nice guest house with a beautiful view. The people are so nice and welcoming, great breakfast!!

Cons: Shower is open to toilet, but for the price it is completely fine.

A beautiful stay on the nile

Pros: The hotel was comfortable, best night sleep in Egypt. The location is peaceful at night, with a beautiful view across the nile to aga khan. Breakfast was really good. The bedroom had separate reading lights which was really great. The hotel has thought a lot about guest comfort. We wish we had a longer stay here. The owner and all staff were really friendly and helpful.

Pros: Loved the genuine Nubian real-life village on the ancient Elephantine Island, complete with it's maze of beaten earth pedestrian routes and little fields. The guest house has a good rooftop breakfast area overlooking the Nile. The staff were very helpful in booking both a motor boat and a felucca from just in front of the guest house. Good value, simple accommodation for the genuine traveller.

Cons: Locating the public ferry is crucial - 25 EGP one-way, compared to 300 EGP if you get in a private boat by accident. We were stung on our first crossing, but as long as you find the real ferry, it's easy and cheap to cross to Elephantine Island.

Pros: The host was very friendly and helpful. The room was bright and clean. The view was amazing on the roof top.

Warm and relaxing stay in Elephantine Island

Pros: The staff were all very attentive to one's needs and communicated effectively. The location, even though a bit far from the ferry pier on foot (on the other side of the island), was really pleasant, calm and quiet.

Cons: The water cylinder capacity was a bit short for two people.

Pros: We loved the people working in the house, kind, very well spoken, helpful without being pushy to sell us tours. The house is on the island well positioned and quiet at night. It was lovely being collected and brought to the house by boat. It was a real treat.

Cons: Just a few suggestions, perhaps, that it would be nice to have chairs on the balcony.

Pros: We loved our stay. The accommodation seems to have been renovated quite recently. The walls in our room were freshly painted and bathroom in good condition. All was clean. The view was amazing!!! And staff lovely and generous. We were made to feel at home. There was no upselling just genuine hospitality. It is on the island which we were pleased to have chosen…away from the chaos of Aswan. We spent most of our time on the island…enjoying the Nile and views. We also ate at the guest house…and enjoyed the good Egyptian food!!! Finally the public ferry is about a five minute walk…return fare for the two of us was approx 1 euro. There is a private taxi boat if you have more luggage…we saw a few people arriving this way. Though best check
