The Residence

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and a glimpse of rural Egyptian life.

Pros: It is in a quiet peaceful rural location well away from the madness of the Luxor tourist areas, but If you want to visit the West Bank archaeological sites this is a good base. A local taxi would ferry you round from here. If you want a comfortable, quiet, private place to chill out this is perfect. There is loads of room and there are good places to hang out whatever the temperature including a roof terrace. The building itself is of traditional form and is quite charming. There are a number of good (but very simple) restaurants in walking distance. There is a small village, also in walking distance, for shopping. You do need to either be prepared to walk or use taxis to get around from here. The Property owner and his local manager (and the resident cat!) were very welcoming and helpful.

Cons: Probably just a result of the location but, everything was pretty dusty and surfaces often needed to be cleaned down before use. You wouldn't want to wear smart clothes here - but then it isn't that sort of place.

Absolutely incredible

Pros: Absolutely incredible! The house is very big, bigger then it looks in the pictures I'd say. There's a fully equipped kitchen also which was really lovely. Raghab is incredibly kind and helpfull, and our stay couldn't have been better. The location is great, quiet and peaceful. Close to a few restaurants and only a small tuktuk or car ride away from the ferry. We mostly enjoyed the rooftop hangout area, where we had breakfast each morning with stunning views of palmtrees and the mountain, accompanied by the adorable house cat \

Truly Fabulous

Pros: The Residence is a tastefully decorated Luxor villa located in a peaceful area of the West Bank. It is blissfully removed from the tourist-populated streets and noisy symphonies of the other side. It has a spacious kitchen with all the gadgets and tools, a bedroom that is insulated from the heat outside, a study, a bar, a cosy garden with a fountain, and a terrific 2nd floor / terrace that has all the atmosphere to make you feel like an author in retreat. Furthermore, you have an excellent helping hand who can arrange breakfast, meals and transport. If you would like to socialise, Jewel Howard Carter Hotel with its bar is a mere 3 min walk away. More restaurants are accessible in the area. The Valley and the Temple of Hatshepsut can be reached in 15-20 minutes. You can always cross the Nile to the other side if you want stimulation. Enveloped in peace and calm, we were lucky to not have checked into a hotel.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: The property was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, and the location was convenient and easy to access. The staff/host was helpful and responsive, which made the stay pleasant

Pros: Красивый аутентичный дом со всем необходимым, расположен среди ферм, но рядом есть другие отели, для такси не было проблем найти дом. Путешествовала одна и с удовольствием там провела время с котиком.

Ich komme wieder

Pros: Die Schlüsselübergabe erfolgte vor Ort. Das Haus über google zu finden ist etwas schwierig, aber der Gastgeber benutzt what3words und darüber ging es dann. Inmitten netter Nachbarschaft und nah zum Nil.

Cons: Der Gastgeber war mit dem Preis über booking nicht einverstanden. The Residence ist eine große Villa mit Dachterasse und großem Innenhof, so dass ich sein Anliegen verstehen konnte. Ich sollte 45€ für 2 Nächte zahlen über booking und habe am Ende 80 Dollar gezahlt. Das war für mich völlig in Ordnung,da Strom, Wasser und Internet inklusive waren. Das ist in Ägypten sonst meistens noch extra. Die Bilder von The Residence entsprechen dem was vor Ort zu sehen und zu finden ist. Wer Luxor besuchen möchte und nicht auf große Hotels steht, kann hier gut unterkommen.

Un séjour en Villa a réitérer sûrement. Je recommande.

Pros: Belle ambiance pour cette Villa de style arabisante. Bonne literie Toute l’attention du service à la remise des clefs et pendant le séjour. Très sympathique. Probablement une des meilleures adresses sur la Rive Ouest à Louxor pour ceux qui ne souhaitent pas être dans un hôtel traditionnel.

Cons: * Wifi à revoir. Indisponible ou extrêmement lent.

Pros: The design is unique and gives ancient times mood, view from the attic and garden are very nice as well. Place is far from hustle and bustle of the city so it gives peace. Owner is really polite and outgoing he created all conditions for us.
