El Nakhil Hotel

Pros: The hotel was everything that we needed and more. The kids loved and dived into the swimming pool as soon as we reached. Location is fantastic and very near to the ferry station, shops and restaurants. The rooms were clean and fabulous, the hotel itself well taken care of with a beautiful garden. The terrace restaurant food was so delicious that we ended up eating there on all the days we were staying. Good breakfast every morning. Friendly staff and manager, he suggested trips and local sightseeing arrangements though we ended up doing on our own as we had already booked. The owner met us on the last day and arranged for a taxi to the airport. All in all a very great stay at El Nakhil. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Luxor.

Cons: Everything was fab, no complaints.

Pros: The staff were extremely helpful. I was a lone frmale traveller and felt completely comfortable here. The hotel is s 5 min walk from the edge of the nile, a 100egp will take you across to the temples and the bus station. I hitched a ride with one of the hotel managers on his motorbike as running late for bus. So helpful and v funny! I wouls stay here again when in Luxor...

Pros: Best location. Authentic neighbourhood. The private boats (100-200 egp) and public ferry are very close by. Pool! Good food and good, clean room. Very good organized tours for first 2 days with excellent guide and good english speaking drivers and ok cars with enough seatbelts. (Make sure you ask for those). Breakfast boxes for our early starts.

Cons: Our day 3 car to Aswan via Esna, Edfu and Kom Ombo temples organized by and responsibility of hotel was very unsafe and horrible condition! Really a gamble with our lives for long trip! It cost 120 euro, with driver so we paid proper money for an absolute wreck of a car that you could not drive in any western country or even India... No working seatbelts or door child lock (we travel with 7-year old). We should have not gotten aboard that car at all but we had a horry and It was dark when we left for Aswan so we did not see or realize that car had been very heavily crashed from both sides. At 80 km/h the passenger door flew open and I did close it properly! Very luckily it was not my daughters door. She would have panicked. Driver was nice but did not speak English at all. Car also had automatic gear problem: the gear started jumping to neutral in full speeds which is very dangerous if it happens in pass by situation in crazy Egypt traffic=head-to-head crash. At one point the gear did not go on at all for 15 mins and we thought we are stuck in the desert road. Driver fix something under the hood and it barely worked to destination. For our last stop at Kom Ombo the driver started to rush us because he had to pick up someone from Aswan on time? ??(We paid for full day trip and driver, about 16 when we arrived) After spending a big amount on tickets we did not want to rush the last temple. But ended up spending there only 30 mins because we did not want the driver to speed even more with that car. He also constantly checked phone while driving. With google translate we managed to get the driver to understand to drive at normal speeds avoiding the craziest pass bys for the last leg and be careful and finally got to Aswan. IF you book your tours with hotel make sure to ask for good condition car with seatbelts, english speaking driver etc. Your minimum specs because otherwise they skimp with the costs. If you ask only for AC car this it what you could get!

Lovely hotel in Luxor

Pros: Very helpful staff, particularly Abdul who also arranged our tours. Hotel was good value for the money. Room size was good. Outside space ad well. Nice garden and good restaurant on the roof.

Cons: A kettle in the room would have been nice. No beer available in the restaurant.

What a great find !!

Pros: This hotel was a great choice ! In a quiet street on the West bank. The hotel is absolutely spotless . Its not a hotel in respect that they will make up your room every day, but they will change your sheets/ towels and clean when requested , it means your room is very secure. I loved this! The pool was great too, it gets the sun from maybe 10.00-4.00. Abdullah and his staff will all go that extra mile to ensure you have exactly what you need . I would definitely return without any hesitation !

Cons: There was nothing that I didn't like, El Nakhil surpassed any expectations that I had. I would have no hesitation recommending this to anyone who asked !

A perfect stay!

Pros: El Nakhil is a fantastic hotel. The service and facilities were great, and the food we had at the restaurant was some of the best of our Egypt trip - try the garlic bread! Abdallah took good care of organising anything else we wanted (trips, felucca, drivers etc). It is also located on the West Bank, which is much quieter and more peaceful than the more tourist-heavy East Bank. Would highly recommend.

Well positioned, clean and friendly hotel with attentive staff

Pros: I stayed at this hotel twice - once before my Nile cruise and I chose to come back here after the cruise too. I liked that this hotel was close to the centre of the town and very close to the passenger ferry across to the east bank, but also tucked away from the busy main road. The hotel was clean and the rooms were very nice, with beautiful wall paintings inspired by the paintings in the tombs nearby. The restaurant was very nice, the pool was great too. Abdallah the hotel manager was great, arranging for airport pick ups and drop offs, and driving me out to visit the valley of the Nobles (100% worth a visit if you had the chance, just bring plenty of 50s as tips for the various tomb guards - and you need a guide too). He was always available to help me find things in town and a super friendly guy.

Cons: Nothing - it’s a lovely little hotel and if I’m here again I’ll come straight back.

Staying at the El Nakhil

Pros: We enjoyed our four nights at El Nakhil. The hotel is quiet and comfortable with a nice swimming pool and delightful staff who looked after us very well. The restaurant serves some great dishes, we particularly liked moussaka and kofta. The hotel provided a pick up from the airport for only $10. Breakfast was included and was good and filling. There was always some friendly and helpful staff on hand to assist us.

Cons: The bed was a little bit saggy but OK for sleeping. We could have done with an extra light in our room.

Pros: Very good breakfast and the best service. I will surely return to this beautiful hotel.

Awesome

Pros: It was a fantastic experience. Mohammed greeted us with great enthusiasm. At the very beginning of our stay, he carefully told us about the hotel’s location and led us there in person, making us feel right at home. The room was clean and tidy, and all amenities including hot water and a hair dryer were readily available. Amid the hustle and bustle of travel, a stay at Le Terrace on Koh Chang is an absolute must. The hotel’s terrace offers a panoramic view of the Nile, making it a perfect spot to unwind. Transportation to and from the island by boat is convenient, and there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, so you won’t have a single worry. The people here are all warm and kind. This can definitely be called the highlight of my trip to Egypt.
