Perfect choice

Pros: A good place to stay as you get all the facilities of the Winter Palace but at a lesser rate. Food was excellent, pool was very nice after tours, staff were so helpful and friendly, there's no reason not to stay here if in Luxor. Just go for the breakfast, one of the best we've had anywhere.

Cons: Communal areas a bit dated but it made no difference.

Pros: We loved our stay. The property shares facilities with Sofitel Winter Palace, so you’re welcomed by lush gardens and even flamingos roaming around. The location couldn’t be more perfect, Luxor Temple is literally across the road (highly recommend visiting at night when it’s beautifully lit). You can also walk to the Luxor Souk for bargain souvenirs, and just opposite the main road there are plenty of great restaurants for evening strolls. The rooms are classy and comfortable, true to a 5‑star experience. Most of all, thank you to the wonderful staff who made our stay so memorable.

Cons: The check in counter could take more time during busy period.

An excellent stay! We would love to return!

Pros: The gardens and pool area are beautiful, and the room spacious and comfortable with a lovely view of the West Bank. Breakfast outside in the gardens was delicious, especially the fruit and freshly cooked omelettes. We arranged our sightseeing tours in advance through Mohammed Ali, the concierge at the Winter Palace, who organised everything to meet our specific needs, and ensured everything went perfectly. Thank you for making our visit to Luxor so relaxing and interesting , Mohammed!

Cons: We would have liked more eating options in the evening, similar to the daytime pool menu which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Comfort and old world calm

Pros: Great location within easy walking distance of the Luxor Temple and Museum. The Pavillon shares the beautiful gardens and pool areas with main Sofitel, and these provide a lovely outlook from the rooms and sanctuary of calm compared to the hurly burly outside. Breakfast was excellent, although the pool bar was expensive for what it was. There are several decent restaurant options just outside across the road, which are much cheaper than the restaurants within the complex. Having said that the meal we had at La Corniche in the Sofitel was the best we had in Egypt, and the atmosphere in the bar was wonderful old world chic.

Cons: The rooms are clean and well appointed, and excellent value. But they are a little tired. There's no street noise or much disturbance from other rooms, but the first night we were there coincided with a big festival at the nearby mosque. This was very loud until the early hours of the morning. Better sound proofing of the windows might help (or checking for events beforehand). But of course upgrading would also be reflected in increased room prices.

Gorgeous garden

Pros: Absolutely loved our stay here, the beautiful grounds were a particular highlight, I enjoyed watching the Hoopees feeding in the grass and the flamingos wandering around. The breakfast was also great with plenty of selection. Great central location for just about everything.

Cons: The food and drink was very expensive for Egypt although a pizza by the pool was not too bad when we had a quiet day.
