Pros: Mahmoud Hegazy and his father were very homely and friendly from the beginning, he could recommend us places to visit around and where to eat. He could orientate me also where to buy tickets to cairo and what to do. House was clean and with a fantastic view. We enjoyed our stay in his house. Thanks a lot :)

A really cute guest house

Pros: Location - pretty much right next to the ferry (10 EGP one way), making it convenient to bring your bags up to the doorstep. Very spacious, definitely suits a family, with a dining table and a kitchen. Good kettle to boil lots of water. Great views. Owner provides clear instructions before checking in. Wifi was fast and suitable for making calls.

Cons: The room was cold. There were extra warm blankets for sleeping but the rest of the house was cold. In Egypt especially down South it seems like not much extra heating is provided, not even a small fan heater. Could use a hairdryer, shampoo, and extra toilet paper (ran out the day before I checked out). The guest house could also use a signboard up the front, though it is well placed on Google maps.

Pros: location wonderfull, only not for handicapt people, host was waiting for us at the ferry and walked us to the house. no cars, just gravel ans sandy path.

Cons: kitchen and bathroom could do with upgrade. we eat out all times, but tried oven to warm a snack, it did not work. we however did not miss it, the apartment itself makes up for everything

Relaxing few days on Elephantine Island

Pros: Fantastic terrace overlooking the Nile! Location is excellent, away from the bustle of the east bank but right near the ferry terminal so easy to get over to Aswan when needed. Host family were also able to accommodate an early check in.

Cons: Nothing!

Pros: Muhammed and his father were excellent hosts, very relaxed and friendly. The apartment was very big with beds for 6-8, with a large balcony. The Nubian island was exceptional: no cars, no motorbikes, no roads, no noise. The apartment, like the island, is not high-tech with the latest gadgets and fittings (there was no TV: good), but that is exactly what a restful break should be. Restaurants very good and everything very comfortable and very reasonable. \

Cons: Some people may not like the dirt paths between run down dwellings with plenty of light rubbish, the air of poor village. It's not the rich West, accept it for what it is and you will enjoy the peace and the Nubian people.

Pros: We had a great stay at the green Nubian house, the appartment was confortable, and very clean with a nice view. The host was very helpful and easy to communicate with.

Pros: The flat description refers to it as a studio flat, but it's actually a 2 bedroom flat, which is much better. The host was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very tasty and very generous.
